

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced several new schemes and initiatives in his speech on Independence Day 2024.
Increments in the health sector:
- “Mission Health India”: Under this scheme, a comprehensive scheme was announced to improve health facilities across the country. This includes plans to modernize primary health centers, deliver health services in rural areas, and promote the use of new health technologies.
Digital Education Initiative:
- “Digital Shiksha Bharat”: Under this initiative, new facilities and resources will be provided to promote digital education in schools and colleges. This includes online courses, e-learning platforms, and setting up virtual classrooms.
Rural development:
- “Rural Transport Improvement Scheme”: Under this scheme, new projects will be initiated to provide better road and transport facilities in rural areas. This will improve connectivity in rural areas and accelerate development.
Social security and welfare:
- “Egrity and Inclusivity Scheme”: Under this scheme, special social security and welfare schemes will be introduced for the weaker sections of the society. This includes old age pension, disability allowance, and protection programs for women.
Technological and Innovation:
- “Innovation India Mission”: Through this initiative, research and innovation will be encouraged. Special funds and incubation centres will be set up to support new technology and science-based start-ups.
Agriculture and farmer welfare:
- “Agricultural Reform and Support Scheme”: Under this scheme, new technology, improved seeds, and irrigation facilities will be provided to farmers. Also, new initiatives will be taken for better marketing of agricultural products.
Prime Minister’s speech: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolour flag at the Red Fort and in his address on the occasion of Independence Day, highlighted the achievements of the country, upcoming plans and challenges. His speech emphasized on Atmanirbhar Bharat, Digital India and development schemes.
- Parade at Red Fort: A grand parade was organized at the Red Fort in Delhi, in which contingents from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force marched and displayed various combat equipment.
- Cultural Events: Cultural events were organized on the occasion of Independence Day, in which artists from across the country gave their performances, such as dance, music, and drama, which reflect Indian culture and diversity.
- Social Service Programs: Many non-governmental organizations and social service organizations organized special social service programs, which included food distribution to the poor, health camps, and other philanthropic activities.
- Honouring the national flag: The national flag was hoisted on government and private buildings across the country and tributes were paid to the heroes of the freedom struggle at various places.
