The much-awaited interview of Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump on Twitter’s new transformation ‘X’ led to a major controversy due to technical problems. A large number of users tried to join Trump’s “Space”, where he was to talk with Musk on the 2024 election race. However, due to the huge crowd of users, the “Space” crashed immediately and they got the message “This space is unavailable”.
Soon after this development, Musk wrote on X, “It looks like X is under a massive DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack. Trying to shut it down. In the worst case, we will continue the interview with a reduced audience and post it later.”
When a user raised the possibility of Democrats being behind the technical problems, Musk wrote “yes” in response.
Later, Musk insisted that X was technically ready for Trump’s interview, saying, “We tested the system with 8 million listeners this morning.”
He added, “We will continue the interview at 8:30 p.m. ET with fewer listeners and then post the audio immediately without editing.” The interview finally resumed after a nearly 40-minute delay, with at least 1 million users participating in the relaunched conversation.
Meanwhile, billionaire investor Bill Ackman messaged Trump, “Please let Elon know we’re unable to connect.”
Breaking Points co-host Saagar Enjeti wrote, “Trump was upset about being made to wait 30 minutes for technical problems at NABJ, and now being made to wait again. Surely, the focus will be more on the technical problems than on what he says. Trump will not be happy.”
